የቨርጂኒያ ሕገ መንግሥት Commonwealth of Virginia ገዥ ውስጥ በተሰጠው ሥልጣን መሠረት፣ በይፋ ዕውቅና ተሰጥቶታል፡-
Chronic Disease Awareness Month
WHEREAS, chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, respiratory conditions, and connective tissue disorders, affect millions of people and remain a leading cause of disability and premature death; and
WHEREAS, chronic disease affects many Virginia residents and more than 194 million people across the United States, disproportionately impacting communities of color and low-income families who often face barriers to timely diagnosis, quality care, and equitable treatment; and
WHEREAS, many residents across the Commonwealth face financial and social challenges while navigating complex healthcare systems, contributing to ongoing health disparities; and
WHEREAS, chronic diseases are among the leading causes of illness, disability, and death in the United States and account for the majority of healthcare expenditures, highlighting the need for improved access to care and better health outcomes; and
WHEREAS, the National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) works with patients, caregivers, and community organizations to advance health equity and raise awareness of the challenges faced by individuals living with chronic conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Abigail D. Spanberger, Governor, do hereby recognize July 2026 as CHRONIC DISEASE AWARENESS MONTH and July 31, 2026, as CHRONIC DISEASE DAY in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call these observances to the attention of all our citizens.
